Review: Redbrick Pizza

AKT Rating: 5 WOWS!

Today, I tried one of the newer restaurants at The Shoppes at North Brunswick, Redbrick Pizza. It was probably the BEST PIZZA PLACE I’VE EVER BEEN TO! (but, just saying, this is coming from someone who is an expert in hating pizza. yes, you can gasp.) ANYWAY, I ordered a large pizza with the customizable toppings of half bacon, and half pineapple and bacon. It was amazing! We also ordered an Caesar Salad on the side that I DEFINITELY recommend. Service and food is great, now, let’s talk about interior design.

To start, outdoor seating. I know it was a hot day, but, outside seemed enjoyable! Anyway, inside had nice seating, cold air conditioning*, and (this is more of a feature, but) a touch-screen drink dispenser! (chorus singing chords).

I definitely suggest that you try this place out. It’s nice, clean, and very delicious.

*My air conditioning has been broken for most of the summer. Real pain.

Review: Sahara

AKT Rating: 5 WOWS!

I have been coming to the restaurant Sahara since I was a baby. The food is amazing, the service is incredible, WHAT MORE COULD YOU WISH FOR!

To start you off, they serve you with pita bread that was cooked in their brick oven. A fresh piece of fluffy bread sprinkled with black and white sesame seeds, and put together with love.

My family and I prefer to enjoy it with the House Hummus on the menu. a nice smooth slater of hummus on a plate topped with all kinds of spices and other toppings! But, pretty much any entree you pick off the menu, it’s a fast flight to heaven.

I personally enjoy the Margherita Flatbread. But, as hot as it may be, eat it while it’s letting off steam or you might not like it cold. But, that might just me and my undecided love for pizza.

When you first walk in, it’s everything you could wish for as a traveler, but, in a restaurant. Elegant paintings on the ceilings and walls that transport you magically to those places that you never thought you’d live.

I personally think you should definitely try it out, because not just the delicious food will change your life!

Review: P.F. Chang

AKT Rating: 4 WOWS!

Today, I went to P.F. Chang. One of the most delicious Chinese places EVER! My favorite item that we ordered had to be, the Honey Crispy Chicken. I’m being a bit honest with you, that the first bite you will ever take, is, kinda weird. It’s sweet, but REALLY spicy, and hot in temperature, let me slow down here.

First of all, it’s really sweet. I am personally not a honey lover, but, I have to admit, this was IT. It was like, the ultimate honey meal. It had honey in it, but it didn’t taste like it did, but it DID, and it was sweet, and nice, and sooooo amazing. But, all of this nonsense is only to be understood if you’re like me. The kind of person that believes that there are TONS of emotions packed into just one teeny plate of food. But, for the average human, who wouldn’t understand what it’s like to have opposites in the same food, here’s the explanation: there’s a lot of sweet flavors in this meal, and that just makes it what it is.

Next, It’s spicy. The first bite, you feel: O.M.G this is sooooooo hot! and: wow, this is soooooo good! So, I’m not sure how to explain this one. But, all I can say, is that, it’s absolutely amazing, and not that good for those who aren’t in love with spice.

As delicious as this is, you might want to slow down your inner sloppy eating pig, and wait a couple minutes for this to cool, because all these flavors and temperatures are kinda a lot for your tiny taste buds to handle. (and trust me, i know how it feels to have to wait when you’re inner sloppy eating pig just wants to dig into that good looking, mouth watering grub.

So, I hope this hasn’t been put on your “read later” list, (I’m very sorry if it has). But, I really hope that you check out P.F. Chang. Because, it. Is. Off. The. HOOK!

Review: Vivi Bubble Tea

AKT Rating: 4 WOWS!

Ok, I’m going to be a little non-professional with you guys. But I have 3 syllables for you: A-MA-ZING!* I tried Vivi Bubble Tea for the first time, and to be honest, it was legit TO DIE FOR! I tried mango bubble tea, and I was in love. The bubbles are ACTUALLY EDIBLE, and like, have to be the BEST part. But, as much as bubble tea shall one day rule this tiny planet, it’s not the best option for those who crave the sweetest thing in sight. But, try these bubbles, and you’ll LOVE it too! I am definitely suggesting that anyone who has never tried this, go and find a place near you. Because, I’m sorry, but this is seriously to die for. I wish I had more right now just to take a sip between every word I’m writing!

I’m very sorry, but that’s how good it is. If bubble tea were running for president, i would 100% vote for it. Again, I have 1 word for you: YUUUUUUUUUUM!

Please check out their website: http://www.vivibubbletea.com/index.php

*Once again, please try this out, it’s pretty much the absolute best thing on this planet.

Review: Cold Stone

AKT Rating: 4 WOWS!

I recently went to Cold Stone. An amazing ice cream place with fancy cones. Last time I went, I ordered a 30th anniversary cone with mint and strawberry ice cream. I was amazing. But, for somebody with a few loose teeth of her own, like me, it was a bit of a hassle trying to bite through it without having a stream of blood come out of my mouth. It was also really filling. So, I stopped eating mid way. As amazing as it was, please try to get something way smaller than what I got. Unless you have a huge sweet tooth, and gigantic stomach that can hold it all.

Recipe: Cake Batter Pops

AKT Rating: 4 WOWS!

I found these super yummy and super yummy-looking cake batter pops at: www.delish.com.

They are my favorite thing since the cake pops at Starbucks. If you think these taste as good as they look, here’s the recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 box of Funfetti cake mix
  • 2 1/4 cups of whole milk
  • 1/4 cups of whipped topping
  • 1/4 cups of rainbow sprinkles (but, there are never enough sprinkles, so, just go ahead and splurge on them if you’d like)

DIRECTIONS:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together cake mix and milk together until smooth. Add the whipped topping and whisk until just combined. (if you couldn’t tell, use a whisk)
  • Add a pinch of sprinkles to the bottom of each pop mold. Divide the mixture between the pop molds. Then insert the popsicle sticks, and place this yumminess in freezer until they are frozen. If they aren’t frozen in 6 hours, leave them overnight.

Again, these look and taste so good. Kudos to whoever came up with this!
