AKT Rating: 5 WOWS!

Prep time: 8 mins

Cook time: 5 minutes per doughnut

  • 1 serving of pancake mix
  • 1 ½ tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin spice
  • 2 tbsp self-rising flour
  • Optional 1 handful of frozen blueberries, frozen raspberries, or frozen fruit (finely chopped)

Optional Toppings:

  • Powdered Sugar
  • Golden Brown Sugar
  • Icing Glaze (premade) and Sprinkles
  • Be creative

Mix one serving of pancake mix, then add cinnamon or pumpkin spice. Once even, add 1 ½ tbsp of cooking oil, followed by 2 tbsp of self-rising flour. Let stand for 1-2 min. Meanwhile, on the stovetop, prepare a pan with ½ inch deep cooking oil and heat at medium-high. As the oil is heating, gently fold in variations of your choice, for example blueberries, if you choose and then pour the doughnut mixture into a sealable plastic sandwich bag. Seal and cut a single bottom corner off of the sealable plastic sandwich bag. When oil ready, squeeze out the doughnut mix into the pan to form a circular doughnut shape. When the bottom of the doughnut appears golden brown, flip and fry the alternate side until golden brown. Remove doughnut when both sides are evenly cooked.

Once the doughnuts are removed and still warm, immediately decorate with optional toppings.

Let cool for 10 mins and serve.

Review: Goody’s Burger House

AKT Review: 5 WOWS!

While I was in Athens, Greece, I went shopping with my aunt at the huge, luxurious, and foodie-friendly mall. After lots and lots of shopping, we eventually decided to get something to eat. First, we decided to stop off at Goody’s. Goody’s is a burger house (probably one of the best) only in Greece. When I went, I ordered the Extreme Club Crispy. And when it says extreme, it literally means: EXTREME. It was basically a jumbo platter with delicious club sandwiches and a butt load of fries. But boy! Was it delicious. I ended up having to give away 2 of the sandwiches because that platter was way too big for me to eat all by myself. The sandwiches had inside crispy fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, sauce (which I’m assuming was mayo), and bacon. and, it was a two layer sandwich, which means that there were three slices of bread, and twice the amount of fillings! And all of this was held together by one measly toothpick. As a refreshment, I got some Sprite.

Today, my family and I went to the Peacock Inn for Mothers Day. It was absolutely amazing, from the food to the waiters! The Peacock Inn is also a hotel. Imagine waking up everyday, and going for high tea! 🙂 Though today was super rainy, it definitely made my day 20x better! The tea there was very high quality and delicious, though there wasn’t many options. The scones were absolutely amazing. They were kind of hard and crunchy on the outside, but super delicious and soft on the inside. The little sandwiches were so quaint and definitely very exotic. Delicious yet exotic. There was a huge variety of food. The dessert was delectable. There were macarons, and many other kinds of chocolate desserts. Be warned though that some of the food contains nuts, so try to ask for the nut-free version. Trust me: it’s just as amazing. The place itself was really cute and nice. It was nice and neat, and the ambience was very enjoyable. The lights were just bright enough that if it was a sunny day, the whole place would be lit up. Based on what high tea is usually priced at, this place was priced perfectly.

Th Peacock Inn was very enjoyable, and I highly recommend it as an afternoon tea option!

When my mom and I recently went back to Whole Foods, we went to try out the new healthy smoothie bar! Once again, Whole Foods has impressed us, by giving us a not only healthy but delicious smoothie. I would definitely recommend this smoothie bar has a place to get healthy smoothies that are also delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would definitely go back for another yummy smoothie!

Review: Local Greek

My family and I recently went back to Local Greek in Princeton. Though what we had last time was pretty yummy, we decided to pick out something different. On the menu, we found a huge meat platter that was absolutely delicious! But, though it was meant for two, it was way too much for a family of four!!!

Yesterday, on a trip to the infamous New York City with my dad, on Bring Your Child to Work Day, my dad and I, for lunch got Poke Bowls. I had my own bowl made, and he got the Hawaiian Bowl. Overall, it was absolutely delicious. My bowl was made with: white rice, avocado, shrimp, seaweed, mango, and cucumber. I definitely recommend this combination, since it tastes amazing. Poke Bowl is an amazing foodie location, and is definitely worth trying.

Video Review: Warude Taco and Japanese Bowl Restaurant

AKT Rating: 5 WOWS

Address: 385 Tompkins Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11216

Last week, I went to Brooklyn, New York for the first time, and my family and I decided to try out Warude Taco and Japanese Bowl Restaurant. This experience was so unique because the taco place and the Japanese place was combined. The prices were very affordable, the food was amazing, and it had perfect lighting. The service was also amazing. I had both a chocolate taco, and a breakfast taco, and enjoyed them both. I would definitely recommend this place if you happened to be walking around Brooklyn.
